{easter weekend 2012}

Saturday night Trevor and Juliet came over to color eggs. We had such a great time and made some pretty fun eggs. Coloring eggs is one of my very favorite Easter traditions, I can't help but feel like a kid again. So much fun!

Taylor and his "Bat Egg"

 Sunday morning we got our baskets from the Easter Bunny. He did a great job. :) Then we went on a walk/hike with my mom at the Farmington trail. There were so many fallen trees from the wind storm last fall, it was pretty sad.

After our walk we went over to Taylor's parents house for lunch and egg throwing. It was fun to see family we hadn't seen in awhile. Taylor's family has a tradition that I am still getting used to but starting to enjoy. They roll or throw their colored eggs down a hill. We have a good time!

The first egg.

Running back up the hill!

We had a great Easter this year, hope yours was fantastic too!

{18 weeks}

Baby boy is 18 weeks today!

Head to rump, baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (the length of a bell pepper) and weighs almost 7 ounces.

"He is busy flexing arms and legs - movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. Your baby's blood vessels are visible through thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from the head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after your baby is born."

{sock monkey}

My new obsession... sock monkeys! Taylor thinks I'm crazy! I have played with the idea of doing baby's nursery in sock monkey colors with a cute sock monkey sitting on a shelf above the crib (Taylor has finally given in.... if I let him put a shark in the room too). I don't know what it is, I just find this absolutely adorable.

{we catched a 'coon!}

Back when we lived in Vegas, my mom called me panicked that there was a raccoon on her roof. Her friend and her fiance came over to see if they could help her get rid of it and succeeded... or so they thought.

About a week after we got back to Utah, my mom said she was hearing the raccoon on her roof again (mind you only at night). I went to the Animal Shelter to rent a live trap to see if we could maybe catch this thing. Morning #1 - nothing, morning #2 - nothing, morning #3 - what the heck is that thing?! This raccoon did not look like the cute cuddly creatures you see on tv, it was scary!! We called animal control and they came and got it, we kept the cage though because they said if there is one there is probably two (great).

A few nights later my mom said she was still hearing the noise on her roof, ok we have another one. So the next morning Taylor climbed up on the roof to see if he could find it, and find it he did, in the chimney! It had pulled down the insulation to make himself a nice comfy bed, at that point we were worried about the possibility of babies (luckily that wasn't the case). We set the trap up again for the next few nights with no luck. Last night was our last chance because the trap had to be back to the shelter today. My mom texted me this morning and said, "I had a dream that we caught another raccoon and it was huge!" I laughed and told Taylor what she said, he responds with "I had a dream we caught one too!" Ok?? .. weird dreams you guys! Maybe not so weird, I went to look out the window and lo and behold a MASSIVE coon sitting in the trap. He was super scary looking and big. Animal control came and got him and the trap a few hours later and we are so happy to (hopefully) have this raccoon adventure over with.
